Agreement
These terms apply to your use of Mastering Epistemology at https://epis.duckdns.org/, in English and Persian (the “site”). By using the site you agree to them. How the site handles your data is described in the Privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
The service
The site is a free educational resource: a guide to epistemology and critical thinking, a concept map, a narrated audio edition, and optional study tools (progress, notes, review questions, Google sign-in and sync, and an AI study companion). It is provided free of charge, and features may change or be withdrawn at any time.
Your Google account
Signing in is optional. When you sign in with Google, you remain responsible for your Google account and bound by Google's terms. Your synced study data is stored in your own Google Drive, and you can delete it and revoke the site's access at any time, as the Privacy policy explains.
The AI study companion
If you use your own API key with Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter or another provider, you use that provider's service under its terms, and any charges it makes are yours. Keep your keys private. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete: check them against the guide and other sources, and do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
Content and copyright
The guide's text belongs to its author. You are welcome to read it, link to it, and quote short passages with a link to the source. The artwork is in the public domain, the fonts are under the SIL Open Font License, and the audio is narrated by synthetic voices; see the credits. The source code is published on GitHub.
Acceptable use
Please do not use the site in a way that breaks the law, interferes with the site or with other people's use of it, tries to get around its security, or uses someone else's account or API key without permission.
No warranty
The site and everything on it are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. The guide is for education; it is written with care, but it may contain errors.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the site's author is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, including the loss of data stored in your browser or your Google Drive, or charges made by an AI provider.
Changes and ending
These terms may be updated; the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. You can stop using the site at any time and remove your data as the Privacy policy describes.
